Shahid Kapur opts out of Sippy film

MUMBAI: Shahid Kapur has backed out of Ramesh Sippy's next, as yet untitled film.

According to sources, the Sippys are planning a slew of films, at least three of which are reportedly backed by Adlabs.

While the Sippys were unavailable for comment, sources say, "Shahid Kapoor had been finalised to play the lead in one of Ramesh Sippy's films, that was to be directed by Rohit Shetty. Nana Patekar too was to play one of the central characters. But things went topsy-turvy when Nana Patekar, instead of the director or the writer, turned up to narrate the script to Shahid, who subsequently, refused to do the film."

Of the three films backed by Adlabs, one is to be directed by Ramesh Sippy and the other by Rohan Sippy. While Ramesh Sippy has made films like Andaaz, Seeta Aur Geeta, Sholay, Shaan, Akayla, and the television serial Buniyaad. Rohan Sippy has last directed Bluff Master.
