MUMBAI: BIG Animation has got into a partnership with NICK, Hungama and BIG Home Video for Little Krishna’s licensing & merchandising, digital and home video rights.

BIG Animation has sold its licensing and merchandising rights to NICK, which will be rolled out in January next year. Hungama has bought Little Krishna’s digital rights encompassing, mobile ring tones and digital wallpapers and BIG Home Video has bought home video rights, both of which are being launched this December.

BIG Animation CEO Ashish S.K. said, “After being such a massive success in India, it’s for the first time that an Indian original IP is all set to make its presence felt in the global arena. The deal with a global distribution giant like Evergreen was real breakthrough. We are looking at a 360 degree approach for the property with broadcasting, licensing & merchandising, mobile ring tones, wallpapers, home video and every other means of presence related to Little Krishna for which we have signed deals with Hungama.com, NICK and BIG Home Video. From December 2009 onwards Little Krishna will available be on every major shelf in the country and hopefully will find its way in every Indian home too”.

Evergreen chief executive Steve Walsh said, “Little Krishna is our first Indian IP product. It looks like a million dollar product, is very well written, the animation is great and is in 3D which adds to its attractiveness. The series offers such a fresh look from anything that we have seen till date coming out of India. It has already done phenomenally well since its premiere on NICK India and we believe that it will enthrall the world audience equally well. It can be truly termed as a global family entertainer and kids are going to love the wide variety of monsters that the series portrays.”
