Warner Bros to release Harry Potter with 350+ prints in India
MUMBAI: Warner Bros is all set to release Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince with 350 prints and 450 screens in India.
Of these, 20 will be digital prints. The movie is premiering on 15 July across three Imax properties in India namely Imax Adlabs Mumbai, Prasad Imax Hyderabad and Aeren R. Imax Kolkatta.
The movie will release is slated to release on 16 July. Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince is slated to release in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. This is the sixth and second last Harry Potter film.
Prior to this Warner had released Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix across 400 screens in India. Moreover, the latest Harry Potter film will be the widest ever release for Imax.
The movie will release across 62 Imax screens in 24 countries. "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the widest Imax release ever internationally, a true testament to the continued appeal of this tremendous franchise and the growing interest in this format. We are excited to partner with Imax once again on this next installment of our incredibly successful series," said Warner Bros. Pictures president of international distribution Veronika Kwan-Rubinek.
"We're pleased to be able to share this film with our expanded audience, which has grown significantly since the previous installment in the Harry Potter series, thanks to the rollout of our digital projection system. Special features in Imax continue to attract fans and repeat viewings, and we are looking forward to sharing the special 3D opening with consumers around the world," said Imax CEO Richard L. Gelfond.
