EXCLUSIVE: Actors root for their favorite Indian Premiere League team

MUMBAI: A day before the Indian Premiere League (IPL) is due to kick off in South Africa, Businessofcinema.com spoke to the Hindi film fraternity to find out who is supporting the various franchisees owned by key actors.

While Shah Rukh Khan owns Kolkata Knight Riders, Preity Zinta and beau Ness Wadia lead the charge of the Kings XI Punjab and lastly Shilpa Shetty and boyfriend Raj Kundra have staked a claim on Rajasthan Royals.

Read on for who the stars are rooting for this IPL:

Kareena Kapoor: The one and only. The Badshah. I am a big fan of Shah Rukh Khan and I will support Kolkata Knight Riders. There is nobody better than him and his team.

Karan Johar: I wonder if I can get my lead actor in Mumbai to start shooting for my film, My Name is Khan. If Shah Rukh is out in South Africa, then I will also be there with him. But let me tell you, since Shah Rukh is family, there is no doubt that I will be supporting him and his team.

Genelia D'Souza: It has to be only Shah Rukh Khan. He is God and I love him. So whatever be the team, I will support Shah Rukh Khan.

Boney Kapoor: Mumbai Indians for sure and that is because I am from Mumbai.

Sridevi: I am not a cricket fan, but because of Boney I tend to see the matches. He used to get up at wee hours in the morning to see India play New Zealand. So if he is supporting Mumbai Indians, then it is the same for me.

Amisha Patel: I am a keen follower of the game and I would like to support my entire fraternity who has put in mega bucks in the IPL. If I had to pick out the top three teams, it will be Shah Rukh's team, Shilpa Shetty's team and Preity's team and then may the best team, win. But I will be rooting for all.

Riteish Deshmukh: I am torn between two teams. One is KKR and the other is Mumbai Indians. Mumbai, I support because of Sachin Tendulkar and because it is my home city, while KKR is where my heart is because of my friendship with SRK. So God help me when the two teams play each other.

Celina Jaitley: The one and only King...
