NDTV Lumière Wins at Pune International Film Festival
MUMBAI: NDTV Lumière's Tulpan, Caramel and The Class won an array of awards at the 7th Pune International Film Festival (PIFF).
Out of the 109 films from 30 countries in the World Competition category, three of NDTV Lumière movies were appreciated by the jury. Directed by Sergey Dvortsevoy, Tulpan won two awards, The Prabhat Best International Director Award and the Best International Actor (Male) for an astounding performance by Askhat Kuchinchirekov.
Screened in Indian multiplexes few months ago, Nadini Labaki was awarded The Best International Actor (Female) for Caramel. The award fiesta continued with a Special Jury Mention for Laurent Cantent directed The Class, which is also nominated for the present Oscars.
NDTV Lumiere director Sunil Doshi said, "Within the last year, NDTV Lumiere films have won more than 25 to 30 awards in India alone at various film festivals. This is very heartening and re-affirms our hand picked collection of the new World Cinema titles which we are bringing for people in India to watch."
