NDTV Lumière to screen 24 films at 13th International Film Festival in Kerala

Mumbai: NDTV Lumière will showcase 24 of its films in the 2008 International Film Festival which is being held from 12 - 19 December in Kerala.

Directed by Laurent Cantent, the 2008 Palm d'Or award winning movie The Class will be showcased at the festival alongside Ingmar Berghman's last gem Saraband, which is exclusively acquired by NDTV Lumière and Todd Haynes I'm Not There which exalts the personality of Bob Dylan.

The International Film Festival of Kerala will have the directors Amos Gitai and Samira Makmalbaf holding a retrospective on their celebrated movies. The Film Festival will additionally showcase films such as Three Monkeys which won Nuri Bilge Ceylan the Best Director award at Festival de Cannes 2008; Persepolis nominated for the best animated film in the Academy Awards 2008; Caramel which was Lebanon's official entry at the 2008 Academy Awards, amongst a host of other cinematic delights.

The other films that will be screened by NDTV Lumière include Alilia, Kedma, Free Zone, One Day You Will Understand by Amos Gitai, Two Legged Horse, Blackboard', At Five In The Afternoon by Samira Makhmalbaf, Breath by Kim-Ki-Duk, Boarding Gate by Oliver Assayas, Half Moon by Behman Gobadi, Wonderful Town by Aditya Assarat, Ulzhan by Volker Schlöndorff, Funny Games by Michael Haneke, Destiny by Youssef Chahine, The Yellow House by Chris Durlacher, Salt Of This Sea by Annemarie Jacir and El Camino by Carlos Sorin.

Some of these films have already been appreciated by the Indian audiences and are available in multiple platforms ranging from theatrical releases, home video and television. This January, NDTV Lumière will also premiere I'm Not There based on the ruminations on the life of Bob Dylan, where six characters embody a different aspect of the musician's life and work.
