Little Zizou nominated in 4 categories at Asian Film Festival

Mumbai: After winning two awards and premiering at the MIAAC Film Festival in New York, Sooni Taraporevala's directorial debut Little Zizou has now been nominated for 4th Asian Festival of 1st Films (AFFF) to be held in Singapore from 4 – 10 December.

Little Zizou is opening the film festival and has been nominated in five categories including Best Film, Best Producer, Best Director, Best Actor (Jahan Bativala) & Best Actress (Iyanah Bativala).

For the uninitiated, Taraporevala has been the screen writer for all Mira Nair films including Salaam Bombay, Mississipi Masala and even adapted Jhumpa Lahiri's novel The Namesake. Now with her directorial debut she has chosen a subject that is very close to her heart and explores the Parsi milieu. Little Zizou, as the name suggests, is the story of a young boy, his family and his surroundings. But the ultimate greatness of the film lies in the journey it takes into the fascinating Parsi community of the city, warming one's hearts with the love and family values so obviously present in this society. Little Zizou has an interesting ensemble cast with Boman Irani, Zenobia Shroff, Jahan Bativala, Imaad Shah; and John Abraham in a cameo.

Presented by Mira Nair and Indian Films, Little Zizou is slated to release next year summer 2009.
