Rock on for Humanity - Bigadda calls for those who care for their fellow countrymen
Mumbai: BIGADDA has enabled an online donation for Rock On for Humanity at rockon.bigadda.com; a relief effort for the flood affected children of Bihar initiated by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Arjun Rampal along with the Nargis Dutt Memorial Charitable Trust.
The effort is to raise funds to activate a Medical Camp especially for children and new born infants who are in dire need of attention. This will be done with the Nargis Dutt Charitable Memorial Trust, a foundation headed by Priya Dutt, who recently initiated relief work in the area. People across the country can support the victims of the Bihar floods by donating online on rockon.bigadda.com. The rockon.bigadda.com community is a forum which will enable people at a national level to be able to contribute funds for this cause.
BIGADDA chief operating officer Shivanandan Pare said, "Rock On has touched a chord with the people, and it gives us immense pleasure to come together with the team for this novel cause. There was a need to provide access and a platform to people who wanted to contribute for the flood victims. People across the country, who want to make a difference, can log on to rockon.bigadda.com and make a donation; which will be handed over to the Nargis Dutt Memorial Foundation that is actively involved in the relief operations."
Apart from the donations Rock on for Humanity will raise funds through a live music concert on 31 October at the MMRDA grounds, Mumbai. The three hour concert will feature Shankar, Ehsan and Loy, Shaan & Kunal Ganjawalla, Raghu Dixit, Rabbi, Pentagram, Parikrama fest Saif Ali Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Something Relevant, Shaa'ir & Func, Avial, Dream out Loud and Them Clones.
Akhtar said, "As the name suggests Rock On for Humanity is an attempt to bridge the gap through the power of music. Sidhwani, Rampal and I strongly believe that music is what binds us together. Numerous children have lost their homes, parents, and as human beings it's our responsibility to make sure that they get all the love and care they deserve.
